2026 Brazilian GP: Bezzecchi dominates to lead Aprilia 1-2 ahead of Martin

Marco Bezzecchi came from 3rd on the grid to win the Brazilian Grand Prix, and move to the top of the championship.

The Italian came from 3rd on the grid and got the holeshot to lead into turn 1. Once Bezzecchi was out front, there seemed to be no catching him.

He would lead home another superb ride from Jorge Martin, who benefitted from a Marquez and Di Giannantonio battle to overtake them both and pull away to take a second podium of the weekend.

The battle for the final podium place went all the way to the last lap, and for the first time in a while, we can say someone has battled Marc Marquez on equal machinery and won, as Di Giannantonio fought back after being passed by the world champion to score a superb podium for VR46.

Other positive results included 5th for Ai Ogura, once again making it 3 Aprilia’s in the top 5, and Diogo Moreira scoring home points in 13th for LCR.

However, the race also brought some poor results for some, with the KTM’s again at the back apart from Pedro Acosta (who finished 7th), Fabio Quartararo dropping from 4th like a stone to end up 16th, and Pecco Bagnaia crashing to make it only 7 points since his win in Japan last season.

MotoGP gets back underway next weekend in Texas for the US GP at COTA.
